The album is Burkes first release since winning British television talent show, The X Factor. The release of the album is scheduled for 19th October 2009, and is to be preceded by the single Bad Boys. Overcome was initially to be released on 26th October 2009 but was pushed forward to 19 October so that it does not clash with Cheryl Coles debut solo album 3 Words.
